The truth is that the political war hawks in the United States aren’t solely interested in combatting terrorism (an otherwise legitimate concern). They’re also interested in forcefully removing those from power whom they don’t like (whether it means an aggressive war or not). If the two interests align: great. If not, they do their best to brainwash the public in hopes that the blatant hypocrisy of their position doesn’t outshine the international “villain” of choice.
This is a neat little book that focuses on a simple yet important idea: “government is an unnecessary evil.” The authors, Morris and Linda Tannehill, oversimplify their argument at times, but the central idea is right: evil is not a necessary component of society.

As with any organization, the actions of some individuals do NOT define the character of all, but it’s worth examining the deeper cultural implications of an organization whose members are “authorized” a much broader range of acceptable behavior.
If you can be honest enough with yourself to look at circumcision objectively, you’ll realize that a permanent removal and alteration of a body part without a person’s consent constitutes aggression. It should be clear to anyone with half a brain that an infant cannot consent to the removal of his foreskin.
